Golden Needle is a contemporary Indian wear brand from Sri Lanka, blending rare craftsmanship with timeless traditional silhouettes. Our pieces feature ethnic embroidery techniques like chikankari and zardozi. We create classic, feminine designs for any occasion.

THE DESIGNER
Being a business owner was not what Hawwa sought out to be. Born in Galle, Sri Lanka and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka Hawwa was always in and around fabrics. Her father owned a fabric store in Galle, and later, in her late teenage years, Hawwa would help her mother with tailoring orders. Hawwa’s mother was an excellent seamstress who learnt her skills from her father who was quite the maestro. So it was no surprise when, in 1995, Hawwa, with the support of her mother, set up Golden Needle. This was her outlet to marry her Indian roots with her love for Sri Lanka. Fast forward to today, Golden Needle is a label known for its unique designs and its impeccable bespoke tailoring, making sure everyone gets the right fit!
